This past Saturday the family & I drove to Roanoke
for the "Celebrate Roanoke Downtown Festival".
It was the perfect time to check out
Ann-Denise's new art studio,
P'arty Place.

It's hard to believe a week has passed,
ALREADY!

Last weekend, I was one of the many
Texas Bellas that
attended a holiday gathering at "the Church"
... as in Shea & Debbie's Church.
It's taken them a year or so, but they have
renovated this old Church into a wonderful home.
It's AMAZING!
Absolutely breath taking.
Take a look...
We mingled.
Eat. And Mingled some more.
Then got cozy in their craft room,
After a scrumptious dinner,
we all gathered in front of the fire place
and exchanged gifts "White Elephant" style.
We were all asked to bring a Bella worthy gift.
Hmmm...
which, in my mind, translates too~
homemade, bling-ish, and glittered
So, I made a this:
a Pink Sugared House,
which was 'passed around' a coupled of times
and ended up in Debbie's hands . : )
Anyhoo, the evening was wonderful!
It was great to spend time with some of
my Bella sisters again... esp. so close to the holidays.

definitely followed me from Omaha!

The weekend was long and packed
with tons activities.
My classes were incredible...
loved, loved, loved them.
Met up with lots of friends,
participated in some awesome swaps,
and came home very, very tired! : )

Saturday:
I spent the entire day with Angela, Filigree Moon.
I had a great time... but few pics to prove it. LOL
(Despite the fact that we both brought our cameras).
Our first stop was the Cattle Barn in Ft. Worth.
Then lunch at El Chico's.
After stuffing our bellies, we drove to
Cottage Panache Antiques to see Maureen's new place.
Maureen has a cute shop.
And the work she has put into it is evident.
I tried to get a couple of pics of Angela & I...
but she was a little camera shy. :)

For my birthday,
My good friend, Bryanna
sent me the cutest little package.
It was totally unexpected...
and very unnecessary...
but amazingly sweet & thoughtful.
I have to tell you, I felt very loved! :)
Anyhoo, I wanted to share my gifts:
Bryanna made this adorable lil' top hat!
I just love everything about it!
The floral fabric, the green velvet trim,
the doily, lace, millinery & brooch.
And the buttons!
I think the back of the hat is
just as cute as the front!
Bryanna also made this amazing cuff
for me! She thought of everything.
It was packaged in a homemade
bag made from a vintage hanky.
Just look at the cuff!
So full of detail... and lots of yummy
lace, cheese cloth, pearls, a button
and a vintage watch face.
It's gorgeous. Wouldn't you agree?
And this is the inside of the cuff.
I love that thick piece of lace.
Bryanna totally outdid herself!
And I very much appreciate it.

Are you familiar with Tiffany of Shabbyscraps? Well, in June she posted a blog asking for our assistance. She was in a pickle & needed advice quickly! She had just found and fell in love with a tattered & torn, BUT completely darling little object!
This darling little object was a old mannequin in which she named "Nadia".
Unfortunately for Tiffany, her DH did not have the same loving feeling for "Nadia" and even suggested Tiffany sell her!
Tiffany's plans were quickly going down the tubes! Or maybe I should say... up in flames!
So, she asked this question:
How do you convince your man to live in this realm of beauty?
She received a lot of advice. But, that just got her creative juices flowing! Tiffany called out to each person claiming to be a "lover of all things vintage" and asked that we show off our dress forms. Surely, this would help Tiff convince her DH that there were MANY other just like her!
So, please allow me to introduce 2 of MY gal pals:
Hattie Mae & Marietta!
Hattie Mae is crafted of scrolled iron wire in the shape of a 19th century dressmaker's form.
She is almost life- sized and looks ravishing in anything she decides to wear.
She loves wearing dangly jewels and often completes her look by wearing a vintage apron. The framed artwork below sits near Hattie Mae on a shelf.
Marietta, is the newest member of the family.
Therefore gets away with playing the role of "princess".
She loves wearing her "Divine" sash and simple, rhinestone tiara.
Marietta is half the size of her sister (table top) and is often teased & called half-pint!
(which she hates!) :)
So, there you have it. Nothing fancy... but definitely special! Or "Divine" in Marietta's case!
